THE Federal Government has signed a N2.2 billion contract for the construction of 14 kilometres Ada-Okere-Ukoni-Amedokhian road in Edo state.The contract which was awarded to Messrs Arc Marine and Civil Contractors is expected to be completed within 14 months.
Minister of State for Works, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda who signed on behalf of the federal government said that the road when completed would boost economic activities and improve the movement of people, goods and services in the area.
He noted that government accords great importance to the project and urged the contractor to pay attention to the quality of work as well as ensure that the project is completed at the deadline set by government.
Yuguda also implored the contractor to adhere to the requirements of the due process to provide a bank guarantee from a reputable bank to have access to the 15 per cent advanced payment.
